This exercise involves vividly imagining five different lives you could lead, each with a unique version of yourself. You’ll detail a perfect day in each of these lives, exploring various aspects such as who you are, what you do, where you live, who you’re surrounded by, and what you have achieved.
Steps to complete the 5 Lives Exercise:
- Write a detailed description of a perfect day in 5 different lives:
- Life 1: What do you do? Where do you live? Who surrounds you? What have you achieved?
- Life 2: Same questions but a completely different version of yourself.
- Life 3: Continue with a new vision of yourself.
- Life 4: Another life that aligns with different values or goals.
- Life 5: The final one where your wildest dream could come true.
- Create a summary table for each life:
| Life |
What Do I Do? |
Where and With Whom? |

What is Particularly Valuable to Me? |
What Was I? (One Word) |

- Life: Give each version of your life a name or title.
- What Do I Do?: Describe your daily activities, career, passions, etc.
- Where and With Whom?: Detail the location, surroundings, and who you're spending time with.
- Abilities: List the skills or talents you possess in this life.
- Emotional Impact: How does this life make you feel? Joyful? Fulfilled? Peaceful?
- What is Particularly Valuable to Me?: Highlight what’s important in this life — the core values or experiences.
- What Was I? (One Word): Sum up this life with one defining word (e.g., "adventurer," "creator," "healer").
- Indulgences: What was the “cherry on top” of this life? Something extra that you enjoyed but could live without.
This exercise helps you imagine diverse versions of your life and see what’s truly meaningful. It also guides you toward defining goals that are aligned with your deepest desires.
